Freeway and Statik Selektah Plan to Produce an EP in a Single Day

Freeway and Statik Selektah Plan to Produce an EP in a Single Day

Statik and Philly Free open up the 24 hour recording process by webcasting it live
Recording an entire release in one day would be a novel idea for most acts. Statik Selektah, though, has become pretty experienced at it. He’s pulled off the feat twice before, once in 2009 when he and Saigon released All In a Day’s Work and again just recently on December 30th when he and Termanology recorded their The Evening News EP. And so it appears that Statik likes to work under pressure as he’s just announced plans to record an EP with Freeway.

The record will be called Statik-Free and the duo is set to record it this Monday, January 10th. This project will be slightly different that Statik’s previous 24 hour recording projects. This time they will broadcast the recording process live on Ustream through XXL.com. Statik explain’s it to XXL like this, “I’m just gonna run through beats and we’re just gonna let the listeners get involved and come up with a hook or a concept for songs and help pick the beats for Free to rap, too.”

For more information on Statik-Free, like Freeway’s thoughts on the project, head over to XXL.com.
